The earliest known photo of Texarkana. The girl by the well
is Umbaline Ghio who later married J. L. Griffin. The man cleaning limbs etc
from the street is James Ritchie, the man on the balcony of drug store is Dr.
Isham Taylor. It is not known for sure but Umbaline Ghio is believed to be
standing between her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Ghio The businesses shown
are, Story and Lane Grocery, Taylor Drug Store, The drug store of J. T. Smith
and Dr. W. H. Elliott, Ghio Saloon, Benefield Hotel, Moss House and Apex
Hotel.
