Unknown African American cemetery, Miller County ARkansas

UNKNOWN CEMETERY
(AFRICAN AMERICAN)
On Charlie Starks
Private Property, Miller Co. AR

On 1 October 2003, Betty and Bill Sharp went to Charlie Starks place and got permission from his wife Shirley Starks to visit the old cemetery. From Texarkana go east on I-30 until you get to AR Road 108. Take this exit and turn left, or go west over I-30 until you get to MCR 52 and turn right or north until you get to a brick house on the left. This cemetery is on private property and you have to go thorough two gates and a pasture across a low ditch and over to a large oval mound with many old trees. All across the top west side of this mound you could see where many graves were with no markers. Many markers were off their square bases, many stones were hard to read, all visible stones were listed and some photos taken by Bill Sharp.

At one time the GOLD POINT CHURCH was located at the corner of MCR 52 and AR Hwy 108. It has since been moved to US Hwy 67.

Top of Mound many unmarked graves all tombstones off of bases.
