Cemetery and photos by Wayne Adcock

Peytonville settled in 1835. The small village was named for S. W. Peyton. On the north side of the road was the Post Office. After the Civil War the village grew to have three stores and several gins, a blacksmith and a log school. The school was located directly across the road from the Peytonville Cemetery.
