Oats / Scott Family Cemetery Miller County Arkansas

OATS / SCOTT FAMILY CEMETERY

This cemetery was walked and photo's taken 5/13/2005 by Doris Lindblad, Anna Brett, & Tresa Underwood.  Also some research information has been added.  There are some scenes of this one to show that it is very grown up.  It is very hard to see from the road.  So there may be more under all of the growth.  It appears none of the family members are still in this area.  If you know of any more burials in this cemetery please contact us.

DIRECTIONS:  From Texarkana, travel south on Hwy 71 to AR237. Go South approximately 6 miles. Turn East (left) onto MC234. A mile or so on this narrow road and you will make a sharp left curve. Top the hill and the cemetery is in the woods to your left, just off the road. Very hard to find if you don't know what you are looking for.

NOTE: This cemetery is on private property currently owned by Mr. Karlton Kemp. It is a very old cemetery and probably has other graves under the years of natural mulch from the trees, etc. If there are family members or friends in the area, it sure could stand some TLC.

This gate is not on the side of the road it looks like it enters from the middle of the woods.

This is standing at the gate looking towards the area that it was entered from.

This is where the Cemetery was entered.  The fence was broken.  This is the side by the road.
