Fred Lincoln Alsobrooks was born to the parents of Timothy & Claudia Wright - Alsobrooks on a Wednesday the 14th of August in1907. Place of birth was near the town of Sulphur Springs, Texas in a community called East Caney in Hopkins County.

Fred Lincoln was the third child of the thirteen children birth by his parents. He attended grammar and high school in the predominately-black rural community of East Caney. Fred worked as an agricultural farmer on his father’s property along the sides of his siblings.

During the years prior to World War II, Fred became a member of Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas (Ancient Free & Accepted Masons). Columbia Masonic Lodge No. 81 in Sulphur Springs, Texas is were he participated locally. As well as the Order of Eastern Star of Beauty Chapter No. 32 in Hopkins County. Freemasonry’s acceptance and legacy was passed down from his father Timothy Alsobrooks, and Grandfather Nathan E. Alsobrooks who were Master Masons too. Fred Lincoln was elected Worshipful Master of Columbia Masonic Lodge No. 81 and Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star of Beauty Chapter No. 32 both in Hopkins County.

The marriage of Mr. Fred Lincoln Alsobrooks to Ms. Vida May Finney took place on a Tuesday the 5th of January in 1932. This union of marriage took place in Hopkins County Texas.

Fred Lincoln entered the United States Navy in 1932. His training was at the Naval Training Center-Bainbridge (NTCB) in Bainbridge, Maryland. The Naval Training Center-Bainbridge was constructed in 1942 for basic training for World War II United States Navy recruits. After training he was commissioned for USN Sea Duty. During his United States Navy Sea Duty Campaign he received ribbons and other honors.

After returning to World War II, Fred Lincoln Alsobrooks pursued his entrepreneur desire of becoming a business owner. This business was in mortuary services, that provided burial and funeral services for the deceased and their families. These services included a prepared wake and funeral, and the provision of a chapel for the funeral. Fred also worked as an alert reservist with the Sulphur Springs Police Department. The Alsobrooks Funeral Home was a successful and profitable business in the City of Sulphur Springs and thru-out Hopkins County. He was granted full membership in to the Funeral Directors of East Texas and received numerous awards as an outstanding minority business leader.

His community leadership continued on the local and county levels with several appointed positions. The Hopkins County Chamber of Commerce was accelerator in to a new political arena. Fred chaired the Hopkins County Beautification Committee, and H.A.R.Committee. He was a regular attendee of the VFW Chat Post No. 822 and was elected Chaplain of the Post.

On Wednesday the 12th of March 1975, Fred Lincoln Alsobrooks was pronounced dead at the age of 67. He received a Righteous Masonic Burial with Military Recognition and was placed in the East Caney Cemetery.
