Arnold was the last child out of the thirteenth children birth by his parents. Place of birth was near the town of Sulphur Springs, Texas in a community called East Caney in Hopkins County. Arnold work as an agricultural farmer on his father’s property along the sides of his siblings. His faithful membership was at East Caney Baptist Church were he participated on the Board of Deacons. The marriage of Arnold Alsobrooks to Ms. Ada Malone took place on a Saturday the 4th, of December in 1965. This union of marriage took place at East Caney Baptist Church. Arnold became a member of the Masonic Grand Lodge of Texas Ancient Free & Accepted Masons. Columbia Masonic Lodge No. 81 in Sulphur Springs, Texas is were he participated locally. As well as the Order of Eastern Star of Beauty Chapter No. 32 in Hopkins County. Freemasonry’s acceptance and legacy was passed down from his father Timothy Alsobrooks, and Grandfather Nathan E. Alsobrooks who were Master Masons too. Arnold was elected Worshipful Master of Columbia Masonic Lodge No. 81, a member of the Joshua Heroines of Jericho and a Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star of Beauty Chapter No. 32 all in Hopkins County. As a Deputy Sheriff of Hopkins County, Arnold was applauded for his "By The Book" procedures in law enforcement. He served his numerous years of law enforcement under the late County Sherriff Paul Ray Jones. This deputy sheriff was just the entry way to a highly noted political career. In the year of 1981, Arnold Alsobrooks ran for Hopkins County Commissioner. He was elected as the First Afro-American County Commissioner of Precinct #2 for a two year term. On Thursday, December 9th, 1982 Commissioner Arnold Alsobrooks died serving his first term in office. In honor of her late husband, Mrs. Ada Alsobrooks served his second term as the County Commissioner. She was the First Afro-American Woman Commissioner in Hopkins County. Commissioner Ada Alsobrooks did not seek a second term for the Hopkins County Commissioner Seat. At 2:00 PM (CST) on December 13th, 1982, Commissioner Arnold Alsobrooks received a Righteous Masonic Burial with Military Recognition. He was laid to rest in East Caney Cemetery in Hopkins County.
