(Obit - Mrs. Jessie F. Alexander of Corpus Christi, and sister of Charlie and Oliver Mann, died suddenly Monday morning. The body was shipped to Cumby for burial. Her husband preceded her in death. She is survived by four sons, Paul, Lamesa; Roger, Dallas; Jessie, Little Rock, Ark.; and Weldon, Corpus Christi; one sister, Mrs. Mary Potts, and seven brothers. (Hopkins Co., Echo, Mar. 16, 1934) Later reported in a Cumby news column - Mrs. Alexander, the wife of the late Jessie F. Alexander, died at her home in Corpus Christi, Mar. 12 1934, Services were conducted by Rev. Jones in Cumby. It so happened that Rev Jones had also assisted at the funeral, at this place, of Mr. J. F. Alexander. Oct. 1914. Mrs. Alexander was the daughter of the late John Mann, and was born a couple miles north of Ridgeway, Jan. 2, 1870. She married Mr. Alexander in the latter 80's. In the summer of 1892, they moved to this place (then Black Jack Grove) and that Fall, in connection with Mr. Milt Branom of this place, entered the dry goods business here. During the time the family resided here, Mr. Alexander was in business with, at different times, in addition to Mr. Branom, G. W. Holland and the late S. D. Greaves. He moved from here in 1911, returning in poor health in the summer of 1914, and dying in October of that year.)
