John Peter Thomason, grandfather of Freddy Sue Ellis. John Peter Thomason, Uncle Pete, as he was called by his friends, born in 1842 , lived most of his life in Hill County . The last 70 years he lived in Itasca and had a Mercantile Store until the building burned in 1905. He was a charter member of the Central Baptist Church and an active member until his death in 1930. Susan
Reavis and John Peter Thomason were married in Waco in 1870 and had 7
children. Only 4 of them lived to adulthood. She was the daughter of
William A. Reavis, MD and DDS. She wrote articles on Women Sufferage for
the Atlanta Constitution. She died in 1894 leaving two small children,
and is buried in the Itasca Cemetery. Contributed by Freddy Sue Ellis. |

Samuel
A. Reavis, brother
of Susan Reavis Thomason and Great Uncle of Freddy Sue Ellis. Samuel A. Reavis was a lawyer practicing in Hillsboro until his death. He donated his entire law library to the Terrell Texas Hospital and Library. A large family of Reavis' children lived and died in Hillsboro Texas.

Fred
& Julina Pruitt, father and mother of Freddy Sue Ellis. Julina came
to Itasca at the age of 2 with her parents J.P. and Susan Thomason from
Covington. She was graduated from the Itasca School System, and
the Music School in Itasca. A charter member of the Central Baptist
Church. She married Fred Pruitt who came to Itasca in 1905 from
Lincoln Tennessee and both lived here until death. Contributed by Freddy Sue Ellis. |

Tennie Nevada (Tyra) Cockrell.
b. 26 Nov 1882 Bosque Co; d. 30 Aug 1964 in Waco, McLennan Co, TX. She
was daughter of Samuel Doak and Nancy E. (Leeper) Tyra.
Perry Franklin Cockrell was b. 24 Jan 1881 Aquilla, Hill Co TX; d. 11
July 1968 in Waco, McLennan Co, TX. He was son of Willis M. and Frances
(Sims) Cockrell.
Both Tennie and Perry Cockrell are buried at China Springs, McLennan Co,
TX.
