David Sydney Files was born September 1, 1805 in South Carolina and died October, 19, 1879. He married Sarah Ann Smith, (born July 6, 1808 and died July 8, 1882) on March 26, 1828. They moved to Texas in 1837 and to Files Valley soon after that. The Files Family cemetery was across the road from their home. The house burned but a Historical Marker was erected in front of it in 1966 and it may still be standing. |
