In February 2002, the Hill County Genealogical Society was most fortunate to have two books donated to them by Jane PRUITT. One is a ledger from the Ephraim N. MATTOX Grocery Store in 1917. Below is the listing of activity and customers which he did business with. Think it is interesting to see prices of medicine, gas, and other products he sold.
The other is a ledger of his Cotton Gin buying activities from 1917 through 1922. She bought them several years ago at a garage sale and generously donated them to the Society.
The history of Ephraim N. MATTOX’s grocery store and cotton gin is included in the Osceola history.
