Past issues of the local Haskell County newspapers are on the microfilm housed at the Haskell Public Library.   Obituaries of local residents often appeared in these publications. The library's contact information can be found at Haskell Addresses on the Haskell County TXGenWeb site.   You can also contact the Haskell County Historical & Genealogy Society to inquire about their research services for finding an obituary in the library's  newspaper microfilm.

Obituaries may have also appeared in the Abilene Reporter News.  The newspaper has some of its more recent obituaries archived on their webpage with a search window to help find the name you seek - http://obits.reporternews.com/

The Abilene Public Library has a genealogy department which has microfilm of the Taylor County and Abilene newspapers' early issues.   A listing of the library's genealogy department holdings is found on their website under Collections and Services .  Scroll down the page to "Genealogy Department" to find the information on the newspaper microfilms, along with the telephone number to call for more information.
