Abilene,
left
this
world
for a
better
one on
October
24, 2011
at the
age of
64. He
was born
on
November
30, 1946
in
Munday,
Texas to
Ray Reid
and Ruby
Stovall
Reid.
Gene
attended
school
in
Munday
until
moving
to
Abilene
where he
attended
and
graduated
Cooper
High
School
in 1963.
He
worked
for a
number
of years
at
Clayton
Chemical
in the
warehouse.
Later,
he
worked
for
Mike's
Wrecking
and
retired
at the
age of
62. he
lived
for a
time
with his
stepdaughter
and her
husband,
and for
the last
days of
his life
he
resided
in
Coronado
Nursing
Center
under
Hospice
Care. He
was
preceded
in death
by his
parents
and his
wife,
Patti
Williams
Reid. He
is
survived
by one
brother,
Bill
Shahan
of
Abilene,
two
children,
Kellie
Ann
Stedham
of
Haskell
and
Leland
Reid of
Knox
City, a
stepdaughter,
Amber
Vancleef
of
Anson,
and five
grandchildren.
A
memorial
service
will be
held
Sunday
afternoon,
October
30th, at
2 p.m.
in
Wyndrock
Baptist
Church
on 4340
Edgemont
at Post
Oak Rd.
In lieu
of
flowers,
donations
to a
favorite
charity
are
suggested.
