RULE, Texas — Malcolm Beno Herttenberger, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, in Abilene, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Church of Christ, Rule, with Mr. John Greeson and Mr. Steve Ridgell officiating. Burial will be in the Rule Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes of Haskell.

Mr. Herttenberger served in the Marine Corps during WWII. He worked in the grocery business and was a rural mail carrier.

Survivors include wife, Maxine; a son, Lane Herttenberger of Abilene; two grandaughters; two brothers, Jerry Herttenberger and Don Herttenberger, both of Abilene; and a sister, Helen Simmons of Fort Worth
