Douglas Nixon Davis, 71 , passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2012, in Snyder. Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2012, in Hooker Cemetery in Stonewall County, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.

Born May 1, 1940, in Haskell, Douglas was a son of the late Hollis Randall and Loudell Joy (Trice) Davis. He graduated from Rule High School and played football for Ranger Junior College before going to North Texas State and receiving his degree in accounting. He enjoyed reading, playing solitaire on the computer, watching football and working crossword puzzles.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Leigh Ann Davis of Lubbock; one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jerry Slaven of San Angelo; one brother and sister-in-law, Derrel and Pam Davis of Hamlin; three grandchildren, Hannah Davis, Hunter Davis, and Jacob Slaven; one nephew, Tyler Davis; and numerous cousins.

Directions to Hooker Cemetery: from Old Glory: turn north on CR 1835 and drive 3.8 miles, turn right on CR 252 and drive 1.7 miles, then turn left on CR 253 and drive 1/4 mile to the cemetery.
