Margaret Veoma Dalton, 77, resident of Rule, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2012, at the First Baptist Church in Haskell with Rev. Dave Harrison officiating. Burial will be at Willow Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes. Family and friends can visit from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening, September 9 at the funeral home.

Margaret Veoma Kinney was born October 2, 1934, in Rochester to Daniel and Myrtle (Lewelling) Kinney. She married H.L. (Dusty) Dalton in Odessa on April 7, 1962.

Mrs. Dalton is preceded in death by her husband, Dusty Dalton; parents, Daniel and Myrtle Kinney; 1 brother, Elvin Kinney; 2 nieces, Darlene Carter and Glorafay Patterson; and 2 nephews, Leslie Dan Kinney and Terry Carter.

Margaret is survived by her son, Douglas Dalton of CA; daughter, Jan Colmenero and husband Gilbert of Haskell; 2 sisters, Pauline Lewis of Rochester, Wanda Heath of Stephenville; 2 brothers, Roy Kinney and wife Pat of Sunrise, FL, and Lynn Kinney and wife Doi of Lubbock; sister-in-law, Minnie Pearl Kinney of Rule; 4 granddaughters, Suzanne Price and husband Mike of Haskell, Anianette Palacios and husband Greg of Odessa, Arlene Chilton of Odessa, and Brittany Butterfield of El Paso; 1 grandson, Justin Butterfield of Dallas; 5 great-grandchildren, Hayle Rae Hickerson, Triston Hollingsworth, Greg Ryan, Ravyn Palacios, and Jaddie Patrick; 1 great-great grandson, Heston Tatum; and numerous nieces and nephews.

If desired, memorials can be given in Margaret's name to First Baptist Church, 301 N. Avenue E, Haskell, TX 79521.
