Lorene Boyd
Rule
Lorene Boyd, formerly of Rule, passed away
Wednesday evening, May 16, 2012, in Aspermont,
Texas. Mrs. Boyd was 95. Graveside services are
planned for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 19, 2012,
at the Rule Cemetery in Rule with Mr. Darrell
Edwards and Mr. John Greeson officiating.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday evening, May
18 at the funeral home in Rule from 6:00 - 7:00
p.m.
Ida Lorene Goodman was born in Hill County,
Texas on May 13, 1917, to Ollie Mae Baugus and
J.B. Goodman. She married Travis Boyd on July 4,
1940, in Hillsboro, Texas. She loved the Lord
and she and Travis lived in many places
depending on where Travis' ministry led them.
They eventually retired in Rule in 1989. Mrs.
Boyd enjoyed quilting, and reading. She took
much pleasure in canning the food grown from her
husband's garden and was always available at the
church in any way needed.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Travis
Boyd; a son, Allen Boyd; parents, J.B. and Ollie
Goodman; 4 brothers, Boyd Goodman, Billy
Goodman, Andrew Goodman, D.S. Goodman; and 1
sister, Bertis Colburn.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by 2 sons, James Glenn
Boyd and wife Betty of Henderson, NC, Travis Don
Boyd and wife Norma of Louisberg, NC; 1
daughter, Linda Joy Trammell and husband Stanley
of Aspermont; 5 grandchildren, Chad Trammell and
wife Darla, Amber Barrientes and husband Juan,
Katie Boyd, Bryan Boyd, Cassidy Tucker; 8
great-grandchildren, Desirae, Dorian, Cole,
Abby, Weston, Kable, Connor, Brenna; 1
great-great grandchild, Grayson; and many nieces
and nephews-in law.
If desired, memorials may be made in Lorene's
name to the Lubbock Children's Home, 4404 Idalou
Road, Lubbock, TX 79403.
