Athletic Council & Coaches - 1936
The Athletic Council composed fo C N Jarrell, Walter Bennett,
C E Sweeney, Jack Saikin, J B Poston, and George Nicklow was organized
for the purpose of furthering athletic interest in Gladewater
High School. Under the leadership of C N Jarrell, Athletic
Director, it has achieved the dual purpose of maintaining a loyal
and fighting school spirit and securing the support of the public.

The citizens of Gladewater join the faculty and the student body
of the entire school system in agreeing that all are fortunate
to have as athletic coaches for High School the staff which is
composed of J L Hanna, R E Eury, and Joe Guillory.
Mr Hanna, as head coach, has outlined and carried out a very successful
football program during the year. This successful activity
has been aided by the cooperation of Mr Eury and Mr Guillory.
Mr Eury, coach of basketball, promoted the sport very successfully,
producing a strong basketball team.
Mr Guillory, coach of Junior High, was always ready to work with
others to promote sports in any way possible. He coached
football, basketball, and track in Junior High, as well as track
in Senior High School. |
