1934-1935 Kilgore High School Reflector Yearbook
Girls Sports

The Girls' Sports Association was organized on March 26, 1934, under the sponsorship of Miss Louise Jeter, with a charter membership of 78 girls. The Association now has an active membership of 154.

The Association believes that proper emphasis on intramurals will bring many happy returns to the high school girl along the line of pleasant, purposeful activities which are designed to, "carryover" into the adult life of the individual participants.  The Association stands for fair play and good sportsmanship. Its purpose is to develop the proper spirit of playing for play's sake and for the good of the team. The Sports Association is not an exclusive organization. It is for every girl of the Kilgore High School who likes to play; for those who are interested enough to
participate in sports; for those willing to live up to the code of sportsmanship and standards set by the G. S. A.

The Girls' Sports Association has as Its aim the development of the highest type of womanhood, and the upholding of the ideals of Kilgore High School In character building, scholarship, behavior, and spirituality.
