Died: At her home in this city this morning at 9:25, Mrs. Elizabeth Ramsay, aged 90 years, 1 month and 18 days.

In the death of this estimable old lady, Gonzales loses one of her oldest and most respected citizens. For several weeks she has been gradually failing, owing to her extreme old age, and within the past few days her condition grew much worse and her death was not unexpected. The funeral services will be held tomorrow morning, May 2nd, at the Presbyterian church, the interment taking place at the Odd Fellows cemetery.

She was born in Perth, Scotland, on March 13, 1813, and came to America in 1845, landing at Port Lavaca on April 2, 1845. She was met at this place by Mr. Jas. Ramsay and several friends from this city, and according to previous arrangements she and Mr. Ramsay were straightway married, after which the entire party returned to this city. As a result of this union two sons were born. Texas O., who was killed in the battle during the civil war, and Jas. Whitson, one of Gonzales county's better known citizens.

Death claimed her devoted husband and took him from her side on August 12, 1893, and she, with true Christian fortitude, has been calmly and serenely awaiting the summons of Him who rules over all. For many years she has been a staunch member of the Presbyterian church, and she leaves behind her something more to be prized than silver, gold or jewels--the record of an patient, noble Christian life, the influence of which can not be effected by time or eternity.
