MARGUERITE GORDON
January 16, 1914 - July 16, 2005

     Marguerite Gordon, 91, of Marlin passed away July 16, 2005, at the Golden Years Nursing Center where she had resided since October 2001. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Memorial Baptist Church on Saturday, July 23, 2005.

     Mrs. Gordon was born on January 16,1914, in Ellis County near Venus, Texas.  She married Elwood Gordon of Cleburne, Texas, November 21,1929. They made their in the Friendship community south of Cleburne, Texas, where they farmed until 1952. During this time Mrs. Gordon had her family and later worked as a seamstress with Walls Manufacturing Company for many years.

     In 1952, she moved to Dallas where she was employed at the First National Bank of Dallas for 22 years. She moved to Marlin in 1993, and was a member of Trinity Memorial Baptist Church.

     Mrs. Gordon was preceded in death by her husband Elwood Gordon and daughter Aria Dean Burch.

     She is survived by two sons: Clement Gordon, and wife Alma, of Marlin; and Rodge Gordon, and wife Anna, of Bryan, Texas; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grand children; and six great-great grandchildren.
