GLIDEWELL, William (Bill)

William (Bill) Glidewell, 66, of Iola, formerly of Marlin, died
Monday at his home, apparently from a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Adams Funeral
Chapel in Marlin. The Rev. Dennis Anderson will officiate. Burial
will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.
Mr. Glidewell was born May 12, 1920, in Delia, Texas. The son of
William S. Glidewell and Edna Calvary Glidewell.
He married Mrs. Donie May Poore Griffith in 1950. Mrs. Glidewell
died Oct. 27, 1986.
Mr. Glidewell was a veteran of World War II. He served in
Normandy and received many decorations including four bronze
stars.
He was a member of the Iola Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviviors include a step-daughter, Mrs. W.W.(Naomi) Upshaw of
Waco; a brother, Alfred T. (Shorty) Glidewell of Mexia;
a sister, , Mrs. Ila Brink of Marlin; six grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.
