JOHN “ERNEST” GILMORE
January 11, 1920 – April 12, 2006

     John “Ernest” Gilmore, 86, of Hereford, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, in Hereford.

     Graveside funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2006, at Calvary Cemetery, Marlin.

     Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E. 6th Street, Hereford, Texas.

     Mr. Gilmore was born January 11, 1920, in Marlin, to John Thomas and Mary Angela “Weatherred” Gilmore.  Ernest married Tillie Pavelka in October, 1957, in Marlin.  He farmed until he moved his wife and son John Jr. to Hereford, in 1957.  Shortly after moving to Hereford, Ernest changed his career to carpentry and established and operated the “Hereford Cabinet Shop”, for which he probably did some form of carpentry for half of the population in Hereford.

     Survivors include his son John Jr. and wife Sherry, of Hereford, two grandsons, Jamison Alexander Gilmore and Clinton Pa'vel Gilmore and two cousins.
