MRS. MARY CHANE GAMEZ
Mrs. Mary Chane Gamez, 75, of Marlin, died Saturday in a
local hospital.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at the Adams Funeral Chapel, Elder
L. L. Spicer officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs. Gamez was born March 4, 1914 in Falls County, the daughter of Arthur Chane
and Alice Hueitt Chane.
She married Trinidad Gamez Sept. 15, 1928 in Temple. The couple had
resided in Corpus Christi for many years. They moved to Marlin in 1972.
Mrs. Gamez was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her husband of Marlin; a son, A. W. (Bull) Gamez of Corpus
Christi; two daughters, Mrs. Lois G. DeLeon and Mrs. Mary A. Barrow, both of
Marlin; four brothers, George Chane of Weatherford, Thomas Chane of Bellmead
and Robert Chane and Jessie Chane, both of Marlin, three sisters, Mrs. Jo Britt
and Mrs. Rosie Brunson, both of Marlin; and Mrs. Willie Mae Stachowiak of
Houston; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Grandsons were pallbearers.
