Aged Marlin Woman Expires at
Here
Mrs. R. L.
Frankum, 78, died at the of her daughter, Mrs. G. W. Ivey, 113 Charles
street, where she lived, about 2 o'clock Saturday morning after an illness of
two weeks duration. She had been in
failing health for some time.
Mrs.
Frankum was born and reared in Caldwell County and after marriage lived in Lampasas
from whence, with Mr. Frankum and family, she came to Marlin about 1922. The family were farmers all their lives
until they became incapacitated for work on the farm, when they moved to
Marlin. Mr. Frankum preceded her in
death seven and a half years ago and was buried in Marlin.
Funeral
services were announced for Sunday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock with service at
the grave in Calvary cemetery, conducted by Rev. Smith, pastor of the First
Baptist Church. She was a member of a
Baptist church.
She is
survived by a son by a former marriage, Jim Nixon, another son, Ben Frankum of
Lott; Two daughters, Mrs. C. S. Densman and Mrs. C. V. Ivy of Marlin; and two
children of Mr. Frankum by a former marriage, Barney Frankum of Marlin and Mrs.
J. W. Peterson of Wharton County; thirty eight grandchildren and a number of
great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service for Aged Woman
Held
Funeral
services for Mrs. R. L. Frankum, 78, who died at her in Marlin early
Saturday morning, were held at 4:30 pm Sunday afternoon at the grave in Calvary
cemetery. Services were conducted by
Rev. V. H. Smith, pastor of the Full Gospel church of Marlin and Rev. W. O.
Wright, pastor of First Baptist Church of Marlin.
Pallbearers were M. M. Allen, E. L. Walston, L. O. Hay, F. E. Taylor, M.
C. McWray, and Wesley McWray.
Mrs.
Frankum had been a resident of Marlin since 1922, her husband preceding her in
death six and a half years ago.
