Patricia Ann Fikes
January 12, 1938 - April 26, 2007
Patricia
Ann Fikes, 69, of Rosebud, devoted wife and loving mother was called to heaven
April 26, 2007 after a three month struggle with breast and liver cancer.
A
celebration of Patricia's life will be held at the
Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral in Rosebud, Texas, Sunday, April 29,
2007 at 2 p.m. with Pastors Patsy White, Buddy Sipe and Decaon Charlie Wright
officiating. Burial will follow immediately at Powers Chapel Cemetery.
Patsy
was born January 12, 1938, to O. N. and Lenora Smith at the family place
in Rosebud, Texas. She was a graduate of Rosebud High School. Patricia worked
for Rosebud-Lott ISD and Marlin ISD for 30+ years. She worked as an instructional
aid primarily for the special education program and retired in 2000. In her
spare time she loved to spend time in the yard working in her flower beds and
spent many years as an avid square dancer belonging to various square-dancing
associations.
She
was preceded in death by her mother, Lonora McBride Smith, her father. O. N.
Smith, half brother, Ben Smith of Alabama and half-sister Margaret Padgett of
Florida. Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Ray Douglas Fikes of
Rosebud; daughters Donna Schoenemann of Waco, Kathey Thornton of Westphalia,
Edith Fikes of Lewisville; brother Buddy Smith of Corpus Christi; sisters Peggy
Barnes of Rogers, and Judy Smith of Waco; five gradndchildren, Jenny Glaser,
T.J. Schoenemann, Lori, Jaimie and Julie Thornton; and two great-grandchildren
Garrett and Greyson Glaser.
Pallbearers
were T. J. Schoenemann, Doug Matous, Jerry Fikes, Kenneth Fikes, David Fikes,
and G. B. White. Honorary pallbearers were Jason Simmons and Steve Glasser.
Special thanks to Providence Hospice staff, St. Cathrine's and Community of
Christ Church members.

can be made to Waco Providence Hospice.
There
was a visitation from 6-8 on Saturday at the funeral home.
