Kathleen "Kathy" Shields Everett
October 15, 1937 – October 15, 2007

     Kathy Shields Everett, 70 of Bryan, passed away on October 15, 2007 at her surrounded by her family.

     Kathy was a mother first, and a friend second. After raising her four daughters, she dedicated her life to her husband Barton.

     Kathy loved watching the birds outside and often took care of them. Some of her favorites to watch were the humming birds. The greatest joy in her life was watching and helping her grandchildren grow and spoiling the great-grandchildren.

     Kathy enjoyed short trips with her daughters, going to dog and bird shows, sewing and making crafts. She gave all her daughters the gift of love and the ability to share it with their families. Kathy knew the value of family, and made sure that her daughters would enjoy and cherish theirs. This is a legacy that will be carried on.

     Funeral services were held October 18, 2007 Holly Community Center in Robertson County. Burial followed at Holly Cemetery in Ridge, where she was laid to rest beside her husband of 52 years.

     Kathy was born on October 15, 1937 in Blue Hill to the parents of Martin and Marie Shields. She was preceded in death by her husband Barton on September 26, 2007.

     She is survived by four daughters; Susan Stanley, Leona Stabler, Katie Rittman, and Patty Hernandez; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren that she adored; and one brother: Clarence Shields of Bremond.
