Willie Mae Erskine
Willie
Mae Erskine, 89, of 810 Foster St., died Tuesday in a local hospital.
Funeral
services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Adams Funeral Chapel. The Rev. A.
A. Bratcher officiated. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.
Mrs.
Erskine was born Jan. 31, 1899 in the Tidwell-Pleasant Grove community of
Thornton, the daughter of William Sparks and Alice Steele Sparks.
She
married Thomas Ellsberry Criswell in 1915 and the couple farmed and ranched in
the Odds community of Falls County. Mr. Criswell died in 1948. In
1955, she married Lycurgus R. (Curg) Erskine. Mr. Erskine died in 1983.
Mrs.
Erskine had resided in Marlin since 1957 and was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church.
Survivors
include two sons, T. E. Criswell, Jr. of Marlin and Billy Criswell of Yoakum;
three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers
were Earl Lehrmann, Clarence Lehrmann, Aubrey Stevens, Clint Mulinghouse,
Thomas Criswell and Thomas M. Criswell, II.
