HENRY B. ELLISON

Funeral services for Henry B. Ellison, 85, were held Feb. 28, 1993, in the Phillips and Luckey Chapel in Rockdale, with burial in Clear Creek Cemetery near Marquez.

Mr. Ellison died Feb 26 in Madisonville after a lengthy illness.  He moved to Rockdale from Hearne in 1952.  In October 1991 he moved to Marquez.

He was born Dec. 23, 1907, at Mart, to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. (Cecilia P. Jones) Ellison.  He was a retiree of the mechanical maintenance department at Alcoa's Rockdale operations, having retired in 1969.

Mr. Ellison and Annie I. Bell were married Jan. 26, 1930, in the Prairie Grove Community.  To this union five children were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph E. and Cecilia Ellison; three brothers, Joe, Jack, and Jesse Ellison; and four sisters, Lillie L. Andrues; Lou McMillan, Evelyn Liner and Clara Merryman.

Survivors include his wife, Annie I. Ellison, of Marquez; two sons, Henry Dean Ellison of LaGrange, and Hugo Ellison of Marquez; three daughters, Irene Speer of Marquez, Billie Speer of Marquez, and Hartense Rodgers of Austin; a brother, Hardy Ellison of Franklin; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Ellison was a member of Murray Street Church of Christ in Rockdale until 1991.  For several years he was an elder there.  After their move to Marquez, he placed membership with the Marquez Church of Christ.

He was a life member of Rockdale Athletic Association.

Mr. Ellison received his High School Diploma from Boone Prairie High School.
