ELLISON

Funeral Services for Annie I. Ellison, 87, were held at 2 p. m. Sunday, July 10, in Phillips & Luckey funeral with burial in the Clear Creek Cemetery near Marquez.  Adrin Fletcher of Murray St. Church of Christ officiated the funeral and Will Odom officiated at the graveside service.

Mrs. Ellison died Friday, July 8, in the Madison County Hospital in Madisonville.  In 1952 she moved to Rockdale from Hearne and moved with her late husband to Marquez in 1991.

She was born October 5, 1906, in Blue Ridge to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Samuel (Laura Helen Parten) Bell.  She and Henry Ellison were married January 26, 1930 in Prairie Grove and were married for over 63 years. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Laura Bell; her husband, Henry B. Ellison; and seven brothers, Hugh, Bill, Tom, Booster, Fred, Sam and Gene Bell.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Henry Dean and Mamilyn Ellison, of LaGrange and Hugo and Pansy Ellison, of Marquez; and three daughters and sons-in-law; Irene and Lenton Speer, of Marquez, Billie and Benton Speer of Marquez and Hartense and Leslie Rodgers of Austin.  Mrs. Ellison is also survived by 12 grandchildren, including Deborah Burrough of Rockdale, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Ellison finished school in Prairie Grove.  While in Rockdale she was known for visiting with residents in the rest homes.

Mrs. Ellison was a member of the Marquez Church of Christ and a former member of the Murray St. Church of Christ for over 40 years.
