FUNERAL OF S. B. EASLEY.

     The funeral of the late S. B. Easley took place from the residence of Mrs. Y. C. Billingsley Sunday afternoon, at 4 o'clock; being attended by a large number of friends and realatives.
     Funeral services were conducted by Rev. J. A. Montgomery and M. T. Andrews. Of the near relatives present were the wife, Mrs. Easley and daughter Mrs. Dr. HaIl of Chicago; brothers, R. B. Easley of Houston and J. J. Easley of Dallas; nephew, Chester Easley of Beaumont.
     The remains arrived Sunday morning and received at the depot by a committee of Woodmen, of which lodge deceased was a member for several years.

BIOGRAPHICAL.

     Sydney B. Easley was born in Meringo county, Alabama ffity years ago. Came to Texas with his parents when a child, settling in Washington county. Raised in Grimes county, coming to Marlin in 1876 where he read law under Judge J. D. Oltorf, afterwards practicing at this bar until 1883 when he went to Hondo City. He was married in 1880 to Miss Belle Hough.
     He served as district attorney of the Hondo district for eight years, moving to San Antonio in 1895. He went to Roswell, N. M. two years ago, where his death I occurred on June 1, of heart disease.
     Deceased leaves a wife and daughter. Two other children who died in infancy, are buried in Marlin.
