ELSIE ELIZABETH EAKIN

CHILTON -- Elsie Elizabeth Eakin of Chilton, a former bookstore worker, died Tuesday at a Marlin hospital.  She was 84.

       Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Chilton Cemetery, the Rev. A.A. Bratcher officiating.

       Miss Eakin was born Dec. 22, 1910 in Chilton, where she was reared and educated.  She attended Draughans Business College in Waco and moved to Dallas, where she worked for Cokesbury Bookstore for more than 30 years.  She attended Cliff Temple Baptist Church in Dallas and joined Chilton Baptist Church after returning to Chilton.

       Survivors include two sisters, Marjorie Eakin Chesser of Dallas and Helen Eakin-Hicks of Waco; and two brothers, Eugene E. Eakin of Temple and Edwin M. Eakin of Austin.

       Hoelscher Funeral in Rosebud is in charge of arrangements.
