DOROTHY E. EAKIN

       Dorothy E. Eakin, widow of LeRoy Eakin, former Waco Police Detective, passed away on March 15, 1999, at a local nursing home.  Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on March 17 at Waco Memorial Park Mausoleum with the Rev. David Shuttlesworth officiating.
       Mrs. Eakin was born on Aug. 28, 1913, to William Henry Thompson and Rose Belle Thompson in Blevins, Texas.  She was a member of Park Lake Dr. Baptist Church and was a homemaker.  She was a Past Worthy Matron of Walter Baldwin Chapter O.E.S.
       Survivors include her son, William L. Eakin of Waco; sisters, Audrey Louise Jones of Waco and Peggy Ann Smith of Zapata, Texas; grandchildren, William R. Eakin of Clarksville, Ark., Michael Sean Eakin of Waco and Elizabeth Ann Eakin of New York City; and eight great-grandchildren.
       Family will receive friends from 5 t 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
