Submitted by Elizabeth Dickson Golbach
The remains of H M Dixon* an old citizen
of the west side were buried Saturday. He died Friday at the age of about 60
years. He was a Confederate Soldier and internment was by his old comrades.
During the war he was a member of Company B 11th Arkansas.
*Name
is misspelled...should be DICKSON

Horace M. is buried in Clover Hill Cemetery, as is
his wife Martha L. "Mattie" Reeder Dickson.
Horace
M. Dickson, born March 15, 1846 in Franklin County, Alabama, died October 9,
1903 Lott, Falls, Texas.
He married July 8, 1869 in Hempstead County,
Arkansas to Martha Lee Reeder, born 1843 in Lauderdale County, Alabama and
died February 26, 1934.

I believe Mattie Dickson was active in
getting the Clover Hill Cemetery started. The cemetery was not quite as full back
then as it is now. I commend the people who are in charge of its upkeep.
Clover Hill is a beautiful cemetery. I am always interested in
sharing information with others about the Dickson, Hamilton and related
families.
