Betty (Alford) Davis
October 26, 1930 – June 25, 2008
Betty Davis, 77, of Chilton, entered into rest Wednesday June 25, 2008.
Graveside services will be Saturday June 28, 2008, 10 a.m. at Mooreville
Cemetery in Mooreville, TX With Rev. Jimmy Phillips officiating. Visitation
will be Friday June 27, 2008 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Davis was born October 26, 1930 in Oletha , TX to James Jack and
Gertrude Long Alford. Betty married Jim Jack Davis on October 28, 1950 in
Rosenthal and resided in Chilton for some 40 plus years. She loved her
grandchildren and was a caring and loving mother. Mrs. Davis loved to cook and
would care for anyone and everyone who needed her help. She will be missed by
all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Jack on February 17, 2000.
She is survived by son Bob and wife Mary Jane Davis of Chilton; son
James and wife Cathy Davis of Anderson; daughter, Dana Davis Torres of Golinda;
sisters, Reba Long of Fairfield, Bonnie Fields of Alvarado, Jo Perdue of
Mansfield; sister-in-law Zo Davis of Marlin; grandchildren, Alissa Davis,
Guthrie Davis, Brent Davis and his wife Christen, April Torres, Morgan Davis,
Ashlee Davis and Matthew Davis; two great-grandchildren on the way and numerous
nieces and nephews; brother, Rusty Alford of Bay City.
Pallbearers will be Larry Alford, Wayne Alford, John Allen Alford, Dusty
Alford, Ricky Fields, Billy Clyde Blanchard and Tom Long.
Memorials may be made to the Mooreville Cemetery Association, 129
Coleman, Marlin, TX 76661.
