FORMER KOSSE POSTMASTER
DIES AT ADVANCED AGE
Related to Members of Family Closely
Linked With Early Texas History.
A.J. Burleson, age 85, Confederate veteran and former postmaster, expired at
his in Kosse at 4 o'clock this morning. He had been in declining
health for some time.
He had served in various public capacities,
and was long the postmaster. He was a most honored citizen of the
community in which he lived his life.
Mr. Burleson is survived by his wife and
one son, Corley Burleson. He has a surviving brother, C. I. Burleson, and is an
uncle of R. C. Burleson of Marlin.
Deceased was a relative of the Burleson
family so closely identified with the early history of Texas.
