Mrs. J. W. Burkes, age 50 years, passed away at the of her daughter, Mrs. Jeff Davis, Tuesday, April 14, after a long illness.  Funeral services were held Thursday at Powers Chapel with Rev. O. M. Bean officiating, with interment at the Powers Chapel cemetery.
