Funeral Services Held in That City
with Burial in Calvary

The funeral of
C. J. Bryden, age 48 years, who died at 10 o'clock Sunday night in a sanitarium
at Waco where he resided, was held Monday morning. He was a son of Mr.
and mrs. H. M. Bryden of Marlin.
Deceased was a native of Marlin. He was reared in this city and was an
employe of the Marlin postoffice before going to Waco, where he been engaged in
the potal service upwards of a score of years.
Surviving deceased are his wife, his parents, a brother, T. B. Bryden of
Marlin, and four sisters, Mesdames S. J. Barton and Henrietta Signor of Marlin,
Marshall White of Brownsville, and R. S. Watson of Meridian, Miss.
Last rites for deceased were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday a the family
residence, 2905 Lasker avenue, Waco, by Rev. F. P. Goddard, rector of St.
John's Episcopal church of Marlin, and Rev. E. M. Jones, pastor of St. Paul's
Episcopal church of Waco. Burial followed in Calvary cemetery, Marlin, at
12:30 p.m.
Active pall bearers were C. V. McMahan, J. W Sedberry, G. E. Wallace, D. S.
Wallace, E. C. Norwood and L. A. Robertson; honorary, Travis Oliver, W. Y.
Hotchkiss, Sam hirschman, Lee Knowles, Jack Proctor, E. C. Logan, and rural and
city mail carriers of Waco.
