PRE-NUPTIAL COURTESIES FOR COUPLE
WHO WERE MARRIED AT ROSEBUD

A number of pre-nuptial courtesies were noted before the Longmoor-Brown wedding ceremony in Rosebud on Saturday evening, August 27th, when Miss Edith Longmoor of that city, and George Rhamy Brown, son of Dr. and Mrs. J. Mitchell Brown of Marlin were married.
In the first of August Mr. and Mrs. E. K. Hunnicutt honored the couple and their immediate relatives with a buffet dinner at which time the honorees were presented with a silver serving tray.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Oltorf, and Dr. and Mrs. John Walter honored Miss Longmoor and Mr. Brown with a patio buffet supper that weekend.
Dr. and Mrs. James S. Bussell and Dr. Walter Smith entertained the couple with a buffet cocktail party in the Bussell home, where the guests included immediate relatives of the honorees and members of the staff and their wives of the Torbett Hospital and intimate friends. The hostesses presented the couple with a brass waste basket.
Mrs. M. A. Dowis entertained Miss Longmoor with a luncheon in the Blue Room of the Falls Hotel where the guest list included 17 from Rosebud and Marlin. The honoree was presented a hand painted porcelain perfume bottle and powder box.
Mrs. Mitchell Brown honored her future daughter-in-law; and Miss Nancy Bartlett, bride-elect of Gene Bennett Erwin, with a coffee and rice bag party on the twenty-second in the Brown home. Approximately one hundred and seventy-five guests were present. The honoree was presented with a letter opener in her chosen silver pattern.
That evening in the of Dr. and Mrs. A.C. Bennett, the couple were honored guests of the Bennetts, Dr. and Mrs. Frank McKinley, Jr. and Dr. and Mrs. Howard O. Smith, at a buffet supper. The guest list included seventy-five friends and relatives of the honorees from Rosebud and Marlin. The hosts presented the couple with a silver candle snuffer.
The rehearsal dinner was given by Dr. and Mrs. Mitchell Brown in the Plantation Room of Houston�s Restaurant on Friday evening, 26th. Following the dinner, Mr. Brown was guest for a stag dinner where Joe Ben Turner of Jackson, Mississippi was the host.
