MRS. JOE NAWARA OF NEAR EDDY DIES, FUNERAL THURSDAY



     Mrs. Joe Nawara, age 77 of the Eddy community, died in a Marlin hospital at 11 p.m. on August 30, 1960. She had been a patient from her home, Rt. 2, Eddy, since Thursday night of last week.  Funeral arrangements were completed at Adams Funeral in Marlin on Wednesday morning for services to be held in the chapel at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, with Rev. A.M. Astroth, pastor of the Mooreville Methodist Church officiating. Burial in the Cottonwood Cemetery.

     She was formerly Miss Emma Furchinsky, born in Washington County, Texas, on March 26, 1883. Her husband, Joe Nawara, an Eddy farmer, died on August 11, 1957.

     She is survived by four sons, Walter Nering, Rt. 1, Eddy, Herbert Nering and Reuben Nering of Brenham; a step-son, Bill Nawara of St. Albens, West Virginia; four daughters, Mrs. Paul Brown of Houston, Mrs. George Hahmann of Mooreville, Mrs. Jim Hurt of Austin, and Mrs. Ben Brown of Temple; a step-daughter, Mrs. Jerry Pagach of Texas City; two sisters, Mrs. Martin Schwartz of Brenham, and Mrs. Augusta Ganskey of Houston; also 15 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

     Active pallbearers named included Ralph Pagach, Charlie Nawara, George Martin, Walter Braun, Benjamin Braun and Otto Garbarshick.
