                          LEONARD ERSKINE OF ODDS IS DEAD

 

            Leonard Erskine, age 57, died in a Marlin hospital at 11:30 p.m., Monday, February 27, 1950, as the result of a heart attack he suffered earlier Monday at his Odds home.

            The deceased was born at Odds in November 1882, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John W. Erskine.  He lived in that community during his entire lifetime and was prominently known for his farming activities and activities in community affairs. His wife was formerly Mrs. Lucille Hale of Odds.

            Funeral services were announced to be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the First Methodist Church in Marlin.  Burial in Calvary Cemetery.

            Surviving are his widow at Odds. Four brothers, John Erskine, Otto; Clinton Erskine, Odds; Melvin Erskine, Bryan.  A half-sister, Mrs. J.E.Coleman, Marlin. Two half-brothers, Robert Erskine, Marlin; Arthur Erskine, Hamilton.  Two step-sons, Joe Henry Hale and R. V. Hale, Odds.  A step-daughter, Mrs. J. W. Winkle, Rome, Georgia.
