STATE DEMOCRATIC EXECUTIVE
COMMITTEE MEET AT AUSTIN

       Mrs. John T. Portele returned Tuesday morning from Austin, where she attended the interesting meeting of the State Democratic Executive committee.  She reports an eventful session, with colorful social events to mark the two-day meeting.
       Mrs. Portele was appointed a member of the tabulating committee.
       Sunday the members of the committee were guests of the city of Austin at dinner in the Mural Room of the Driscoll Hotel.  Monday noon was featured by the luncheon' given by Governor Stevenson at the historic old governor's mansion.
       Austin was chosen for the convention city for the State Democratic Convention, Sept. 8.
       The committee will meet again Friday at Corpus Christi to compile the list of filings fro Sadler's unexpired term and certify them to the various counties.
