WITH COMPANY D
TEXAS DEFENSE GUARD

Regular meeting time changed to 7:30 p.m., effective Thursday, Jan 14th.
Sunday afternoon Company D spent in the field--scouting, patrolling, advancing as a unit, etc.  In fact a lot of things were covered--firing with shot-guns and rifles, was practiced.  The objective was finally taken, and proved to be a field setup of coffee and doughnuts.
The attendance Monday night was a little better than the last regular meeting, though there was quite a few excused absences, such sickness, studying for High School exams, etc.  Those absent who had not presented excuses were:  M. A. Cornelius, McCoy, H. R. Powers, E. C. Yeager, Finnis Taylor.
Thursday night of this week, the officers and non-coms school will be in charge of Lieut. Lippard, whose theme will be "Mobs and Domestic Disturbances and How to Handle Them."  All men of the Company will attend this meeting.
Next Monday night Major Sheehy will bring a special detail from the battalion headquarters in Waco to instruct and demonstrate the handling of explosives.
More men are needed in the Company.  If you are interested, apply to any of the officers.
