CANDIDATE FOR STATE
OFFICE VISITS MARLIN
Clifford E. Butler of Houston, candidate for State Comptroller of Public
Accounts was in Marlin Tuesday, coming direct from the state democratic
executive meeting in Austin Monday.
Mr. Butler received a big vote in the 1940
democratic primary for the same office and expressed confidence in his race this
year. He said, among other things that he elected W. Lee O'Daniel Senator,
gave him a silver dollar of year of date of O'Daniel's birth "as a luck piece,"
and Monday did the same for the other aspirants for the office, as evidence of
impartiality.
