DAMAGES ALLEGED RESULT OF COLLISION

Suit for $l000 on behalf of his wife, alleged injured in a collision
between plaintiff's car and defendant's truck at the intersection of Live Oak
street with the east side of the square December 14, last, also $15 for
medical bill and $50 for damage
to automobile has been filed by Paul Kluck in Falls county district court
against Ed Sproles and Hartford Accident & Indemnity Co., the latter as
insurer.

BEER REPORTED SEIZED AND ONE ARREST MADE

About 50 bottles of beer on ice and a quantity in an eight-gallon
container were reported seized in a raid on a house in Marlin Monday
afternoon by Deputies Davis, Hay, Stallworth and Reed from the sheriff's
department. One arrest was made.

ROSEBUD STAGES PARADE AS CONVENTION FEATURE

Headed by a band and featuring a rose-adorned float, Rosebud staged a
parade through the downtown section of Marlin Monday afternoon, a large
delegation from that city attending the convention. The exhibit received
many favorable comments.

JOLLY BOY BAND MUSIC SPEECH WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Crosses Will be Conferred on Descendants of Confederate Veterans

An address by Judge Fountain Kirby of Groesbeeck and music by Scheef's
Jolly Boys Band at Perry are features on the program at the county court room
Wednesday night, when Mrs. W. W. Turner, recorder of crosses of the United
Daughters of the Confederacy, will award crosses to a number of ex-soldiers
of the World War.
Rev. F.P. Goddard will deliver the invocation. Terry Dickens will
introduce Judge Kirby.
The program was arranged by Falls county post No. 31 American Legion,
and the public is invited to attend. Crosses will be awarded to J. W.
Abernathy, E. Jay Bryan, to be presented to his mother, Mrs. P. J. Bryan, J.
T. Courtney, L. J. Dupuy, A. J. Hardin, J. G. Haak, E. R. Herring, E. K.
Hunnicutt, Dr. E. P. Hutchings, Hawthorne E. Kyser, to be presented to his
father, W. D . Kyser, B. C. Segrest, post commander, G. L. Hutchings, and R.
H. Dupuy, to be presented to his mother, Mrs. H. G. Dupuy.

MARLIN MAN ELECTED CHAMBER PRESIDENT

Vice Presidents, Treasurer and General Manager Also Named by
Directors

Dr. N. D. Buie of Marlin was elected president of the East Texas
Chamber of Commerce for the ensuing year at a luncheon of the board of
directors today following closing of the annual convention of the
organization in Marlin. Dr. Buie has been active in ranks of the
organization for several years, serving as vice president and chairman of the
fourth district during the past year.
Vice presidents elected, who will served as chairmen of the districts
indicated, were J.D. Middleton of Greenville, No. l; I. Hochwald of Marshall,
No. 2; Lowry Martin of Corsicana, No. 4; J. H. Seale, Jr., of Jasper, No. 5;
and Tom Ball of Huntsville, No. 6.
C.F. Ashcroft of Sulphur Springs was elected treasurer and H. M.
Harrison of Longview was re-elected general manager.
