VEGETABLES AND FRUITS
CANNED IN DEMONSTRATIONS
-----------------------
Nearly Five Hundred Cans Reported
Put up by Negro Home
Agent

To The Democrat:
A total of 467 cans of corn, beans, peas, fordhoods, peaches, plums,
and okra were canned in four demonstrations in Sunset, Cedar Valley, Marlin,
and Excelsior communities. Cedar Valley and Sunset have each purchased a
hotel size canner and Burpee sealer for community canning. A day is set when
the club members
meet at a designated place and can their products, each helping the other.
These have learned to operate the sealers and canners without
assistance.
