INCOME TAX RECEIPT OVER
THREE SCORE YEARS OLD

Levy on Ten Thousand Dollars Then
Figured More Than Five
Per Cent.

An income tax receipt issued to his father, the late J. B. Billingsley, Sr., more than three-score years ago is in possession of J. B. Billingsley of Marlin, showing the levy of that year figured more than five per cent.

On an income of $10,547, the receipt shows, a tax of $527.35 was paid, the date being April 29, 1867, over 64 years ago.

The receipts bears the signature of the late G. J. Elams of Marlin as deputy collector.
