News of the earthquake felt in this section early Sunday led to a party of picknickers (sic) recalling what appeared to be a spring bubbling up in the current of the Brazos river near the east bank opposite the mouth of Deer creek Sunday afternoon.
Members of the party who had been at the same place the previous Sunday afternoon, wading in the vicinity, did not notice it at that time.
