AN ORDINANCE

AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL TO PARK VEHICLES ON WINTER STREET, PROVIDING EXCEPTIONS THERETO, PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MARLIN, TEXAS:

1.  That it shall be unlawful for any person to park or leave standing an automobile, motor vehicle or other vehicle on Winter Street in teh City of Marlin, Texas.

2.  That nothing in this ordinance shall apply to that portion of Winter Street lying and being situate north of the north line of Capps street.

3.  No provision in this ordinance shall apply to the stopping, parking, or leaving standing of a vehicle on said street for a reasonable length of time sufficient to load or unload said vehicle to or from business houses or other proper places on said street, nor shall any provision of this ordinance apply to the the stopping of a vehicle temporarily and for a reasonable length of time at or near any business house for what is generally known as "curb" service of and by said business houses.

4.  The fact that there is now no adequate provision for proper regulation of traffic on Winter Street and that there will be an extra heavy traffic condition on said street within the next few days creates an imperative public necessity that the rule requiring that ordinance be read on three several days be and the same is hereby suspended, two-thirds of a full council being present and voting for the suspension of the rule and for the passage of the ordinance.
