Ensign James ("Pete") Murphy of the United States navy has arrived in Marlin on a visit from San Diego, Calif., where he has just completed a month's naval aviation course.  He has already had the experience of solo flying and is enthused over the naval serial service.
Ensign Murphy will remain in Marlin until August 22 when his is slated to leave for San Francisco, Calif., where he will go aboard the U. S. S. Tennessee, to which he has been assigned.
He completed a four-year course at the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md., in June, having been graduated from Marlin High school and attending A. and M. College of Texas before entering that institution.
