GUILD MEMBERS ENTERTAIN

Mock Wedding Staged and Style
Show Held as Features
of Program.

       Members of the Ladies Guild of St. John's Episcopal church entertained a large audience in the sun room of the Hilton hotel Tuesday evening.
       Amid a profusion of potted palms, ferns, gorgeous "mums" of pastel shades and under a canopy of sumac leaves, the mock wedding of Joan Blundell, (sic) portrayed by Betsy Anne Johnson, and Gary Cooper impersonated by Billy John Richardson, was held.
       Decorations were in keeping with national flower week observance, including the bridal boquet of bride's roses showered with lily of the valley, matron of honor, maids of honor and bride's-maids boquets, butonieres for ushers, best man and groom, of Briar Cliff, Talisman, Pernet and butterfly roses, while candy was sold during intermission.

Program Presented.

       The program included a cornet solo, "With Love," -- Paul Beaumont, by Jack Chilton, with accompaniment by Mary Frances Robinson; "Million-Dollar Baby," dance by Mary Louise Peacock, Mrs. Hubert Portele, accompanyist; "Creole Love Song" and "Swallows" sung by Mrs. N. W. Goodrich, accompanied by Miss Lalla Branson; tap dance by Miss Roberta Warren of Waco, Mrs. Hubert Portele, accompanyist; "Sweet and Lovely," and "Bowl of Cherries," saxophone, by Mrs. A. C. Hornbeck accompanied by Mrs. Hubert Portele.
       Followed  the Hollywood wedding with Mrs. Hubert Portele as accompanyist.  Ushers were Cecil Glass, Jr., Wilson Burns McClain, Stuart Chilton, John Portele, Jr.  Other characters protrayed (sic) included Mrs. Blondell, Ann Bowdon, mother of the bride; Mrs. Cooper, Isabelle Katrool, mother of the groom; maiden aunt, Bobbye Hunnicutt; Grandma Cooper, Alice Lovell; Grandpa Blondell, Charles Tate; country cousins, Jonnie Del Barnett, Joe Jerrine Barnett; Jack Holt, Charles Dowis; Ina Claire, Betsey Bartlett; Constance Bennett, Dimple Sue Williford; Ruby (sic) Valle, Howard Lee Smith; Skippy, Tommy Glass; Jackie Coogan, Ercell Duke; Nancy Carroll, Mary Goodrich; Charles Farrell, Willis Lang Allen; Joan Crawford, Meredith Earl Manor; Marline (sic) Dietrich, Louise Goodrich; Warner Baxter, Frank Oltorf; Greta Garbo, Dorothy Jean Peacock, Norma Shearer, Nina Frances Tate.
       Bridal party members were the preacher, Horace Goodrich; bride's maids, Martha June Delleney, Barbara Lee Reed, Agnes Harlan, Catherine Bowdon; matron of honor, Alma Louise Davis; maids of honor, Betty Rose Robinson, Elizabeth Anne Donohoo; best man, L. B. Chilton; groom, Billy John Richardson; ring bearer, Robert Peterson; flower girls, Lillian Shelton, Eleanor and Caroline Wilson; train bearers, Margaret Seros, Lorraine Portele; bride's father, Jerry McConnico; bride, Betsy Anne Johnson.
       Models for the style revue were sports apparel, Imogene Langford, Marjorie Landrum, Mercedes Fannin, Nell Torian, Sallie Adair Seymour; coats, *Catherine Landrum, Irene Pierson, Genevieve Hancock; afternoon, Elizabeth Fullinwider, Laura Lee Hampshire, Nina Frances Denning, Corene Lebrecht; pajamas, Ducky Drake of Waco; negligee, Roberta Warren of Waco; evening, Frances Fullinwider, Virginia Barganier, Mrs. Clint Slover, Virginia Earle Smith, Mrs. A.
